I spent this year's birthday in India. My friends in Delhi took me sight-seeing.
Later that night, back at the JNU campus, they had a Buddhist puja for me, where we chanted and meditated together, and then we shared the delicious dinner they had prepared.
And at my hotel the staff were waiting with a chocolate cake!
Next, it was down to Agra to The Taj Mahal.
Then it was back up north to the hill station of Dehra Dun for a week-long Buddhist retreat.
Lots and lots of bus travel...
And off to The Corbett Tiger Reserve, on both an elephant and a jeep safari, seeking wild tigers and elephants.
There were lots of birds, and tiger claw markings and tiger pawprints, but alas, no tigers. No wild elephants either.
It was a colorful, exciting birthday, full of delight and surprises. Happy birthday to me.
